This announcement follows Qatar’s hosting of the first Middle East World Cup, where Saudi Arabia’s national team achieved an impressive group stage victory over eventual champions Argentina.
The Saudi announcement coincided with FIFA’s release of its 2030 World Cup plans and an invitation for Asian Football Confederation countries to bid for the 2034 event.
