A 34-year-old man, Francis Williams, who had been posing as a police officer, was arrested while attempting to steal an electricity cable from a transformer. The Abia State Police Command reported that the suspect was apprehended by officers from the Ndiegoro Divisional Police headquarters on September 11, 2023, in Aba.

Williams has since been charged to court.
Additionally, the Abia Police Command made several other arrests in recent operations.
