At halftime, Liverpool led by a goal thanks to Darwin Nunez’s brilliant chip.

However, the first half brought injury troubles for Jurgen Klopp‘s team.

Midfielder Jones sustained an ankle injury from a challenge by Sergio Reguilon, necessitating treatment.

Despite attempting to play through it, Jones couldn’t overcome the discomfort and was substituted off, with Ryan Gravenberch entering the field in the 34th minute.

Jota, whose excellent header assisted Nunez’s opening goal, suffered a setback as well, when Brentford captain Christian Norgaard accidentally landed on him.

Despite attempting to rise, Jota couldn’t stand and had to be carried off on a stretcher, clutching his right arm tightly.

Replacing Jota was Mohamed Salah, making his return after being named on the bench due to a hamstring injury he picked up at the Africa Cup of Nations last month.

Cody Gakpo replaced Nunez at halftime, but it remains uncertain if this substitution was injury-related.

Liverpool faced further setbacks with goalkeeper Alisson sidelined due to a hamstring injury, and Trent Alexander-Arnold experiencing setbacks in his knee recovery.

Moreso, midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara are currently receiving treatment.
