David Adeleke, the renowned Nigerian singer known as Davido, has made a firm commitment not to refund the $94,600 (approximately 72 million naira) that he allegedly received from former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and others for a performance at the 19th edition of the Warri Again festival, despite his absence at the event. Instead, he has pledged to double the money and donate it to a football charity organization.

Davido criticized Amaju Pinnick, referring to him as “Mr. Dream Crusher,” and accused him of greed, claiming that many Nigerian footballers have had their dreams shattered due to his actions.

This comes after Pinnick publicly called out Davido for not performing at this year’s Warri Again festival, despite the alleged payment of $94,600 and the booking of a private jet for $18,000. Pinnick expressed his intention to teach the singer a lesson and emphasized that Davido’s pride was unwarranted, especially in comparison to Burna Boy, who is part Itsekiri (Warri).

On his Instagram story, Davido wrote, “If I’m returning any money, I’ll return it to any football charity organization.

“In fact, I will double it….. Mr Dream Crusher… imagine how many Nigerian footballers have had their dreams crushed because person one lives for Ikoyi by force.”

It’s important to note that this situation revolves around a dispute over a performance contract, and both parties have expressed differing views on the matter.
