After an inquiry into a violation of profit and sustainability regulations, Everton has faced a significant setback with the Premier League deducting 10 points from the club.
Expressing their “Shocked and disappointment”, the Goodison Park team has announced its intention to appeal the decision, asserting that the severity of the penalty is not a just reflection of the evidence presented.
An official club statement read: “Both the harshness and severity of the sanction imposed by the Commission are neither a fair nor a reasonable reflection of the evidence submitted”.
This deduction marks the most substantial in Premier League history and has an instant impact, causing Sean Dyche’s team to fall into the relegation zone.
